WORKSTATION ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENT
VIRTUAL ASSESSMENT |
Virtual Assessments are provided for remote or home office Ergonomic/
Injury Management evaluation requirements where In-Person Assessors
are not available or cost prohibitive.
As effective as In-Person Assessments, reports are skillfully narrated
to assist employees make required changes to their workspace, work
habits, furniture and equipment. Phone and video support are utilized to
ensure all information is gathered and recommendations are understood
and enacted.
The process involves having your designated OHS or HR representative
contact one of Delta’s specifically assigned Ergonomic practitioners by
email, requesting their employee be contacted. (With employee copied
in on this same email).
Delta’s assigned Ergonomic Practitioner will then request the employee
provide Jpeg photos of their work environment & workstation whilst
performing work in their typical posture and using usual equipment
|
|
and furniture. The employee is also asked to complete an information
collection form containing questions regarding the employees condition/s,
work habits, symptoms etc. The employee then returns photos and
the information collection form by email. The ergonomist will review
this information and make further contact with the employee to clarify
information and/or ask further questions pertaining to their specific
circumstances.
The Ergonomist then completes Delta’s Online Ergonomist Assessment
Report which contains findings and corrective action recommendations.
This report is then emailed to the HR or OHS representative who
has requested the Assessment. Reports are usually forwarded to the
employee by the HR or OHS Representative when appropriate who
would coordinate intervention provisions with the employee and your
organisation’s procurement and facilities departments. |

Each employee is given approximately 10 minutes of time whereby
the Ergonomic Assessor provides individualized ergonomic advice

|

HOME ASSESSMENT |
Working from home is becoming increasingly popular in many
organisations to help promote work/ life balance, reduce emissions and
reduce real estate costs.
Home based ergonomic assessments are extremely beneficial in
reducing the highest risk an employer may have. Many employees do
not have the correct set-up at home and require direction regarding
chair and desk choice/ set-up, peripheral choice/ set-up/ usage and may
require ergonomic interventions.
|
|
Organizations in many jurisdictions have a legal responsibility to ensure
employees are not exposed to risk whilst working from home, just as
they would required to at the office. The difference is that the risk of
injury at home is by far greater than the organizations office due to the
absence of supervision and provision of properly prescribed furniture and
equipment provision. Recommendations are sent back to the requesting
HR or OHS representatives. |
